Activity Holiday in the Merano Area
Hiking, biking and more
Scena and the area surrounding Merano truly are a paradise for hiking enthusiasts and those who like to keep active while on holiday. There are so many great hiking and rambling trails of varying difficulty, the Waalwege – the many narrow walkways that take you along the old irrigation ditches dotted around the region – will just entice you to slip on your boots and go for a walk in the valley or the highlands. However, a holiday in the Merano area shouldn’t just feature hiking… there’s so much more for you to discover here…
The hiking trails that snake their way from pasture to pasture, through the Punta Cervina and Picco Ivigna areas, above Scena are magnificent. Walk among Alpine roses and forests or, even, above the tree line and follow these paths to beautiful places. The cable cars and chair lifts will take you in comfort to the altitude you desire. Marvel at the pristine countryside on the mountains, take a moment for a pitstop at one of the many authentic Alpine inns and bask in the joy of hiking!
If hiking isn’t your thing, there are other things you can do to stay active. Hop on your mountain bike or racing bike. You could even take a tour on an e-bike. There are also child-friendly cycle paths here that your kids will love!
Nordic walking, paragliding, tandem parachute jumping, rafting, canyoning, climbing and swimming are just a handful of the many activities you can take part in during your active holiday in South Tyrol and the Merano area. Try a couple out for yourself!
